Burden (Dr. Stella)

Your victory parade proceeds
Through our recollection:
The sand, the reeds, the desert dust—
Rock-water, heaven-bread.
All our back-bending weight recedes
Like Egypt-destruction:
The King, intent, leaves us nonplussed
That He’d bear it instead.

Blessed is the Sovereign One;
day after day
He bears the burden for us.
The transcendent God is our salvation. Selah
The transcendent God is ours,
a transcendent God intent on saving acts:
to Yahweh, the Sovereign One, belong
the exits that belong to death! (Psalm 68:19-20 Motyer)

Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30 HCSB).
