Greatest (Cavatina)

The argument about who is greatest
Is opposite
Of all the expectations of the proud;
It doesn’t fit.

If anyone would make himself be great
He must be last;
He must be helpless, hopeless, like a child,
To God hold fast.

Jesus did not come Himself to be served,
But to lay down
His life and become last to put us first
Cross before Crown.

To welcome weakness is the Kingdom Way:
For in our weakness He’s our hope and stay.
